Rare Michael Jackson Portrait By Andy Warhol Up For Sale

I’m sure that most of you know about the Michael Jackson death by now and if you haven’t, then Rain feels very bad for you. For those of you who have lots of money to spend on your home decor … a 25-year-old portrait of Michael Jackson created by pop art pioneer Andy Warhol (if you don’t know about him Rain feels very bad for you also) is set to be auctioned in New York this month. The 30-by-26-inch painting shows a smiling Jackson in a red jacket from his 1980s “Thriller” days. The 1984 painting commissioned by TIME Magazine to celebrate the record sales of Jackson’s album Thriller will go up for sale at the Vered Art Gallery in East Hampton. Prospective buyers must register with the gallery to bid via e-mail, telephone or in person. The auction closes Aug. 18. – Via – Telegraph
